Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Guest Post at The Mommy Goods and a Giveaway

Guest Post at The Mommy Goods and a Giveaway

Yesterday, I had a guest post on about breastfeeding at The Mommy Goods' blog (and be sure to check out her breastfeeding giveaways).  Here's an excerpt:
When I was pregnant with my daughter, Charis, there was no question in my mind how I would feed her.  My husband and I both wanted me to breastfeed her.  Thankfully, our family was very supportive.  Breastfeeding seemed like the only option to me, and I have my mom to thank for that.  She breastfed my brother, sister, and I.  I remember watching The Bill Cosby Show when I was four years old, with my mom in the same room nursing my sister.
Like I mentioned in a previous post on breastfeeding, I listed a few items that I think are necessary.  I will be giving away four items:

The Prize
  • Lansinoh HPA Lanolin cream which helps keep the cells from drying out.
  • Lansinoh Milk storage bags.  These are AMAZING; I did not have any leaking issues with them, unlike other storage options I have tried.  Plus, you can freeze them flat.
  • Lansinoh Soothies gel pads help protect the moisture balance, and they do not stick to wounds, such as a cracked nipple.
  • Dippee Dypees Breast pads.  Unfortunately, in the beginning I only used disposable pads.  I wish I had bought reusable.  On the occasions I use breast pads now, I primarily use reusable ones.

This giveaway is sponsored by me.

It starts October 13 at 12:01 AM and
ends October 27, 2011 at 12:01 AM.
Lansinoh and Dippee Dypees
have no idea who I am.
Enjoy!  :)

  1. Hey my odds are pretty good of winning right now! lol!
Unfortunately I was not able to BF my DD's but I AM exclusively pumping for my youngest so I could definitely use the lansinoh storage bags. I don't know if you're doing this as a package giveaway or if you're actually choosing 4 winners (one winner for each item) but if it's a package giveaway I'd probably give the other items to my BFF since she is due with her 2nd baby in April. I wish I needed breast pads b/c those are absolutely adorable (I just don't leak...EVER).
    Oh, my email is joannal.willis@gmail.com

  2. Joanna, thanks for asking for a clarification. Yes, it's a package giveaway.

  3. I breastfed our first baby for a while and then switched to exclusive pumping but I am now pregnant with our second and am looking forward to a fresh start and hoping for a better experience this time since I've learned so much since then.

  4. I had some difficulties with my first but nursed successfully for about 22 months. My son was a natural and he weaned right around age 2 when my milk disappeared during pregnancy. Hoping to win this for myself and to share with a friend!

  5. I'm hoping to win this for myself! I'm 8 months pregnant and want to breastfeed! I'm a FTM so I'm a bit freaked about it!

  6. I am hoping to win this for myself... I am pregnant with baby #2 and hoping to have a wonderful breastfeeding experience. I ended up exclusively pumping for my first baby because we had a lot of difficulty breastfeeding but I am determined to successfully breastfeed this next one!

  7. I am hoping to win this for myself since I'm pregnant with #1.

  8. Breastfeeding was not a fun experience with my son, so I ended up pumping for a whole year! If I won, however, I would give it to my SIL who is due in 2 weeks!

  9. I've yet to breastfeed. I'm due this December, and hoping to win this for myself.

  10. I'm hoping to win this for myself as we are expecting again soon! Our first child was breastfed and didn't find it too difficult. I just put it in my mind that formula wasn't going to be an option.....well, until he was 9 months old and I had major production issues. :-\

  11. I'm hoping to win this for myself. :) My son is 4 months old and we are hoping to make it to at least 12 months!

  12. I am hoping to win this for myself! I love lansinoh products nd this is my seventh and last baby that I will be breast feeding.
