February Goals

My friends and family would unanimously agree with me when I write, "I dislike cleaning."  And I hate that I don't like cleaning.  I have slowly come to realize that I don't like cleaning because it seems like a huge mountain that I must climb in a day, but that is not the case.  This month, I hope to start taking more of a baby steps approach to cleaning and maintaining our home.  I will be using Apartment Therapy's guide How to clean your house in 20 minutes a day for 30 days and The FlyLady's 31 beginner babysteps.  The biggest thing I need to work on is cleaning as I go.  If I cook or make a meal, do the dishes as things are cooking. 

I had hoped to do the 365 challenge this year, but stopped taking a photo everyday around January 10th. I'm also hoping to take a smaller approach to this and just take one photo every day in February using Fat Mum Slim's February photo day challenge.

What are your goals for February?

  1. I could never do the flylady thing because I don't even wear shoes outside the house, let alone inside :)

    But I do see how her thing could work. Last year someone I knew made a comment about dish washing that motivated me to try dishes at least after 2 of the 3 meals a day. Not only did my dishes get done, there was just something about it that made me want to clean up the rest of the house too. Kind of like, well now the yuckiest job is done, so the rest doesn't seem too bad. So now, I always start with the dishes.
