Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Owl Cable Hat {Yarn Along}

Owl Cable Hat {Yarn Along}

The last knitted item I made is now complete.  I knit the owl cable hat and will be giving it to my pastor's wife.

My gift to her was owl themed.  She mentioned one time at prayer meeting that she was wanting to get an owl fitted crib sheet at Target, so I went there and bought the floral owl fitted crib sheet.  I then decided to knit this hat {see photos below}.  I also bought her some owl washcloths and Rockin' green cloth diaper detergent.  FYI, I love owls on baby items.
I don't like how when I start knitting the owls,
it became tighter.

Clifford modeling the hat.

Looks good on Clifford.

  1. Congrats on another finished project! Have you tried blocking your owl hat? I've never blocked a hat, but I've seen it done on an appropriately sized blown up balloon; it might be just the thing to loosen up the owls. Would love to know if you try it. :) Blessings! ~Lisa

  2. So do the Rockin' Green detergent work for you? All my problems started when I bought some and now I've given up on cloth diapers after all these years of no problems :(

    1. I'm NOT a fan of Rockin' Green, but that's what she was interested in, so I bought her some. I told her that I prefer Tide. I know, I'm a bad cloth diaper mother, but it works and Charis's diapers are clean. With the Rockin' Green, they still smell like poop or pee. :(

  3. The little hat is so cute - cables will always pull the fabric a bit. Very clever.
