Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Photograph of Something that Makes Me Happy {Summer #BlogChallenge}

Photograph of Something that Makes Me Happy {Summer #BlogChallenge}

There are many things that make me happy: my husband, my daughter, my parents, siblings, and their spouses, my husband's parents, his sister, her husband, and my nephew, my extended family, flowers, books, coffee, tea, wine, champagne, yarn, knitting, basketball, etc. God has given me so many blessings in my life, which I do not deserve.

This morning I woke up, and my back was hurting.  It has been hurting on and off for the past 12 days, but it's worse at night.  Since I've been trying to be more diligent about exercising, I pulled the jogging stroller out of our van, put Charis in it, and went running.  It's SO fun to hear her point at things as we walk/run by them.  She sat up and said, "Dah."  I thought, "There's no dog."  But the second after I thought that, I heard barking.  Sure enough she was correct. She also loves pointing at "fowers" {flowers}.

We came back home, she played awhile, I read to her, put her down for a nap, and finally showered.  Then she took a long nap {three hours}.  I got her out of her crib around 4:45PM and told her, "We're going to the pool."  I'm happy that there's a pool at our apartment building we can go swim in.  It was very cloudy when we arrived and stayed cloudy the whole time, but Charis enjoyed swimming in the baby pool.  In this photograph, I'm happy because it shows part of the pool and my daughter.

What photographs make you happy?
Do you have access to a swimming pool during the summer?

  1. Thank goodness for the pool at the YMCA! It's affordable and my 12 year old is allowed to go without me, so I can get my workout in while she swims!

    1. That's nice. I'd love to find a pool where I can swim some laps, but the cost is horrible and we have use of this pool, so it's not worth it.

  2. Cute photos! A pool would definitely be a perk of apartment living! We don't have access to one on a regular basis.

    1. You're absolutely right. Not all apartments have pools, but I'm glad ours does. It's only a block away.

  3. We have access to a pool and will be visiting it soon but the weather has so not be cooperating lately and we do no like cold water.

    Charis looks adorable in her swimming attire.

    I am sad to read about your work ordeals. Things will get better with time. I am sad you don't like nursing anymore. There are lots of options and with time the right one will present itself. Or, you can go back to school and become a FNP and pave a new path. It was expensive and I'll be paying off school loans for 10 years but my new job is going to be awesome!

    1. Thanks. The swim top was a thrift store purchase for $1.50 and the bottoms are Bummis swimmi.
