My First Sweater {Yarn Along}

I'm knitting my first sweater, and I've already changed a few things. I'm hoping and praying that it will turn out. I cast off the skirtie on Sunday, but have not yet weaved in the ends. Ugh!! Weaving in the ends is my least favorite thing about knitting, but it's so quick to accomplish.  Here are a few pictures from today, and yes, I included the sweater in with them.

Messy room with messy toys.  Please tell me, I'm not the
only mother whose house/apartment looks like this.
Clifford.  I dislike Clifford books and call them the "books
that have the giant red dog on steroids."  Yes, I am a kill joy.
I am still reading a chapter each day from the Psalms of Ascents.  Charis has been wanting me to read "I'll love you forever" at least 5-10 times per day.  She needs another book to like.

What have you been reading or knitting?
Do you have any toddler book recommendations?
Join me over at Ginny's Yarn Along.

  1. My house NEVER gets out of hand... ;)
    I too tend to modify....randomly...and hope for the best! Each time I say "that's the last time" and then sure enough I find myself adding a little here and litte there. It's a disease really.

  2. Weaving in the ends...the downer way to end every yarn project! Yet, it must be done. :) Toddler book recommendations? My kids all loved (as did I) Winnie the Pooh, the original Thomas the Tank Engine stories by the Rev. Awdry, and many of the old Golden Books. I've been looking forward to pulling our old children's books out of storage to read to my future grandbabies! I never much liked Clifford either...

  3. Knitting is such a lost art! I admire you learning to do it. And the messy house, I'll have a Cleaning Fairy as soon as I win the lottery :)

  4. Congratulations on your first sweater begun! I'm sure it will turn out! Can't wait to see the results!
