This week, I'm thankful for friends who bought my family a small summer CSA share from Homestead Farms. I have been wanting to join one, but for various reasons had not. Last week, we received on e-mail saying that a share had been purchased for us. I don't know who bought it, and I'm not going to look into it. If the person/people wanted to be known, they would have told us.
In last week's box, we received kale, romaine lettuce, turnips, radishes, and bok choi. I must admit that I had no clue that turnip greens could be cooked, though once I thought about it, it made sense. The nice thing is, I pick up the box on Tuesday, but we're told on Monday, via e-mail, what to expect in our box. As one who like to try and have a menu plan, I'm so thankful we're told in advance what to expect, but I'm also excited to try vegetables that I might not go out of my way and buy out of fear of the unknown.
I'm thankful to God for giving us friends who showing us their love and realize that this good thing is ultimately from Him.
Have you had a CSA share before?
