Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Summer Flies {Yarn Along}

Summer Flies {Yarn Along}

I am still knitting my Summer Flies shawl. I'm currently casting off right now using the picket bind off. I thought I'd be finished with this by now, but the section has almost 400 stitches in a row, and it has gotten very monotonous for that section.

I borrowed The Knitter's Life List by Gwen W. Steege from the library yesterday, and I have not been able to put it down, especially with the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival this weekend. The book is divided up into 11 chapters and at the beginning of each chapter there's a checklist for things to cross off in knitting, such as, "Don't resist buying cashmere-buy one skein, at least." Of course, I'm thinking, "Hello! Have you not heard of a budget." I do secretly {or not so secretly} hope to make something out of cashmere for myself one day.

You need to be warned, if you're looking for a book that has patterns in it, this is NOT your book; there are NO patterns in it.  Ultimately, it introduces the reader to a variety of information about knitting and has a bucket list for one who knits. If my family is looking for a gift to buy me, feel free to get this book.

  1. Am putting that book on my wish list...

    Oh my, but that shawl is going to be gorgeous! I finished my daughter's Little House shawl yesterday and think I'm taking a break from shawls for a while. :)

  2. I got the book from the library and I need to revisit it. I could make a huge "to-do" list from that book.
