Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Psalm 34D {Gratituesday}

Psalm 34D {Gratituesday}

Last week during family worship, we sang Psalm 34D from the Book of Psalms for Singing.  As we were singing it, I was crushed.
Jehovah's eyes are toward the righteous ones; His ears are open to their every cry. The LORD's face is against all evil men to cut of memory of them from earth. The righteous cry; Jehovah hears and saves; from all their troubles He delivers them.
The LORD is near to every broken heart, and those who are in spirit crushed He saves. Though many are the trials of the just, the LORD delivers him from every one. For He is safely keeping all his bones; not one of them can ever broken be.
But evil surely shall the wicked slay, and those who hate the just will be condemned. The LORD provides redemption for the soul of everyone who truly serves His will, and none will be condemned among all those who for their only refuge fly to Him.
I was reminded once again that:
  • God sees me and He hears me.
  • God is near me.
  • God provides redemption {through His son Jesus Christ}. It's mentioned that, "not one of them {bones} can ever broken be"
I grumble far too easily about finances, lack of a full time job for Drew, only having one child, living in a one bedroom apartment, but I fail to remember that God has provided for our EVERY need.  Many would love to have a baby/child, but aren't able to have one; we do, though we don't deserve it.  We have a roof over our heads.  How can I be resentful?  It's a sin, and I can't do it on my own strength. God alone can deliver me from these sins.

What are you thankful for?

  1. When you have a good marriage, a lovely child, a home to go to, no matter the size, you have what many only dream of. Chin up! God is with us!

  2. I'm thankful for a husband who loves me and financial stability. It's hard to remember those things when I long for other things...I understand.

  3. Sometimes it's easy to forget how fortunate we are. I help out a school where 80% of the kids live in poverty. I was there after there carnival one night and I had won a big red ball in one of the games. I saw a little boy looking longingly at a toy that was being given away in a raffle. I asked him if he wanted the ball. The look on his face as he ran outside to play with his new toy was all I needed, but he stopped halfway to the door and looked back and me and said, "Thank you". I know as a child I never would have been that excited about a playground ball.

  4. This is something I have to remind myself of daily! Today when part of my house was flooded from a broken pipe...I reminded myself that I was still blessed..it could have been sewage instead of clean water!!

  5. I agree 100%. I have so much to be thankful for especially good health and the fact that we know Jesus and have that peace that He's in control of all things.

  6. I love this post so much! Thank you for sharing openly with us. In doing so, I know you have touched women feeling the same way. I love the sweet conviction of the Holy Spirit. I've been reflecting on how the world's definition of success can discourage us and keep us from truly being successful according to God's word. I think you would be encouraged by my last post (http://www.averagemeetsamazing.com/blog/road-to-success-part-4-success-and-obedience)
    According to God's standards, you are a success! As 2 Peter 1:3 says, "His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue" No matter what you may be lacking, you have already been given the tools that you need for living a godly life. Nothing you're missing can keep you from fulfilling your calling. Thanks for making a place for this discussion. xo

  10. It is human nature to want things, but focusing on God is the only way to remember how blessed we really are. I can't have children, but God blessed us through adoption. While my heart aches for one more, I know that God's plan for me is a perfect one, better than I would have chosen for sure. Our blessings will be eternal.

  11. It is human nature to want more and to want what others have. Focusing on God is the only way to see how rich we are. I often long for many other things and it's only after looking to God for the answer I can see how much I already have. Thank you for being my reminder today.

  12. Finding contentment in God and not in our stuff isn't easy, but it is best. It took me a long time to learn contentment.

  13. It's always important to remember how blessed we are and be thankful. Once you're heart is thankful, God wants to hear our dreams and wishes because He loves us as His own. It's all about the attitude.

    Thanks for sharing.
