Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Cowls, Catalogs, and Baby Vertebrae {Yarn Along}

Cowls, Catalogs, and Baby Vertebrae {Yarn Along}

Remember last week when I purled a stitch, instead of slipping it wyif? I decide to go back with a DPN {my two crochet hooks are MIA} and fix it. I'm happy I did because it would have grated me.  Maybe I'm being selfish, but I'm glad I actually knit something for myself. I'm also praying for a colder winter than last year, so I can actually wear sweaters, cowls, scarves, gloves, etc. I know a lot of others will be praying differently. Have you ever knit or crocheted something for yourself?
My sister's pregnant and due in October. Her nursery colors are yellow and grey, so I decided to have at least one of those colors in everything I knit for the baby until he/she is here. I started knitting a baby vertebrae with Bamboo Pop yarn that I bought at Wolf Creek Yarns about two weeks ago. So far, I think this yarn is perfect for knitting baby gifts: it's soft yarn and machine washable.

The KnitPicks and IKEA catalogs came this past week. I thoroughly enjoy looking at both. I saw a few things I definitely want to get-basically everything form KnitPicks. ;)  I want to see if our library system has a few books: Indie Socks, Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders, The Art of Seamless Knitting, and Hand-Knit for Your Home. The reason the baby is in the below picture is because I would like to get the VANDRING SKOG baby blanket for my sister if she has a girl.

What are you reading or knitting?
