doTERRA Deep Blue Roll {Giveaway}

Last summer when I injured my back, I went to the doctor, but all they did was give me a prescription for pain relievers and another for muscle relaxers. I like to avoid taking medication, so I decided to not take either prescription. Instead, I used a heating pad and did back exercises that a physical therapist showed me. When my back started feeling much better, I began brisk walking again.

A year ago, I wish I knew about doTERRA essential oils, especially their Deep Blue Roll. My Natural Family writes,  "Wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, blue tansy, German chamomile, helichrysum and osmanthus work together to ease achy joints and sore muscles. Its effects are deep and penetrating with sustained results." There are days that my back is sore and tight at the end of the day. On those days, I gently rub doTERRA Deep Blue Roll on my lower back. Immediately, I feel a cool, soothing sensation, and I'm able to fall asleep much more quickly.

Enter below to win your own roll of doTERRA Deep Blue.

The product I reviewed and the giveaway prize was provided by My Natural Family and will be shipped to the winner by My Natural Family.  All opinions expressed are my honest opinions based on my personal experiences.  If you own a blog and would like to run a giveaway like this, check out their blogger program.

Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil {Giveaway}

The first time I heard of coconut oil was 2005. My friend had just gotten married and fried plantains in coconut oil. They were delicious! I have searched for my favorite coconut oil and bought at least five different brands, but many of them did not have the coconut taste because they were refined. I finally discovered Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. It's taste is AMAZING and is the only coconut oil I now buy.

Tropical Traditions states their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil
"is certified organic & traditionally made. This coconut oil meets our strictest standards and is handcrafted by family producers in the Philippines using traditional methods passed down from previous generations. Recent studies show that traditionally-made coconut oils have the highest amounts of antioxidants."

Never cooked with coconut oil before? Then check out recipe ideas at How to Use Coconut Oil. For more information on Tropical Traditions, look into  What is Virgin Coconut Oil.

Jammy Jams-Once Upon This Rock {Review}

Charis loves music, which she gets from her daddy and mama. During the day, I often put a CD in, and she and I sing and dance together.

I was so excited when I had the opportunity to review Once Upon This Rock by Jammy Jams. When it came, I immediately started to play it. At first I was disappointed, because it's only instrumental; there are no words. Remember, my daughter likes to sing with me. I then reminded myself that it's supposed to be a lullaby CD. I was able to play it when my daughter went down for her nap, and she would sometimes hum and suck her thumb. Even though, this CD was disappointing at first, I quickly grew to like it and even played it last night after my daughter went to bed.

Check out Jammy Jams on Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube.

Fleur de Lis Pouch {Yarn Along}

Christmas knitting has started. My first project is knitting a Fleur de Lis Pouch for my brother in law. He enjoys playing games, so I figured it would be perfect fill up with dice and card protectors.

On Monday, I started reading Charlotte's Web to Charis. This is one of my favorite childhood books, and Charis is able to sit still and listen to me read. She loves it and interrupts to ask, "What happens?" I reply, "If you let mama finish reading, you'll find out."

Baby Gifts {Yarn Along}

My cousin Timothy and his wife Arlene are in the States this week. They're expecting their first baby in January!!! Of course I had to knit a baby gift for them. My mum heard that they keep their house on the cooler side, so I decided to knit wool longies. I have no clue if they plan to cloth diaper, but at least their baby will be warm. I used the kanoko pants pattern, and they loved it. Plus, I had the privilege of being the first one to give them a baby gift.

We also had my sister's baby shower on Saturday. I already knit a pair of longies for her baby, but decided to knit a baby bowl for Saundy. She LOVES photography, and I figured she could use it to take newborn pictures.  It turned out OK; I was not completely thrilled with it. Next time, I might use a different pattern or change it up a little bit.

The Marian Skirt is finished. It fits my daughter. It has been hot and humid here, and my energy has been low, which means I have yet to take a photograph of Charis wearing it. I hope Charis will be able to wear it this weekend.

I'm also knitting baby gifts for my sister and my cousin's baby. My sister's shower is this weekend, and my cousin and his wife are visiting from Northern Ireland!!

BookLingual {Review}

This is a sponsored post.

We want our children to learn Spanish. Our first plan was to let Drew teach it, since he has a Master's degree in Spanish Translation. But, he's very busy with his PhD work. And even though I took Spanish for three years in high school, most of it I don't remember because I have not used it. Charis has been showing an interest in speaking Spanish and is able to count from one to ten and knows a few colors. When I saw BookLingual Spanish for Kids Set, I wanted to get it.

The complete set includes 32 digital books + games and activities. There are 11 Level 1 books, 11 Level 2 books, and 10 Level 3 books.  At the end of every book, there are games and activities. The books are included on a CD and can easily be transferred over to any device, such as an iPad, tablet, or ereader for easy reading.

My thoughts:
The first time I opened BookLingual, Charis and I read five Level 1 books. She wanted to keep reading, but we had other things to do. The next day, she remembered five words-oso, mono, maestro, l├ípiz, and pizarra. Charis enjoyed "turning the page" herself on the computer. I liked that it was a read-aloud audio book; I did not have to read in Spanish and potentially mispronounce words. The games and activities at the end of the book also helped Charis learn the basic Spanish words.

Like BookLingual on Facebook. Buy on Amazon. BookLingual is giving away 3 Free ebooks.
