Week One {#catchthemoment365}

This year, I plan to participate in "Catch the Moment 365" and link up every week to Behind the Camera and Dreaming, Nurse Loves Farmer, and Simply Stavish. So far, I have just used my iPod, but that's because my camera batteries are currently charging now, and I need to download and delete photographs before taking more.

January 1, 2014:

Everyday, I plan on writing down three things that I am thankful for. On the first, I was thankful for:
Showers/running water
My parents visit and that they took over 6 boxes that I had packed up
Peppermint tea/peppermint oil to help relieve my headache and wake me up.

January 2, 2014:

One of the gifts Charis received for Christmas was the Little Pim Discovery Set in Spanish. I opened it on the second, and we enjoyed watching it. I realized there are MANY Spanish words I don't know, but I plan to keep plugging away and learn with Charis. I believe that it's important to start language learning early, but I want to make sure it's fun. FYI, I'm sorry about the mess in the background.

  1. I love that you're thankful for running water! My husband and I have been putting some thought into buying a dry house in Alaska and the idea of no running water literally scares me to death.

  2. Writing down what you are thankful for is a great idea and something I'm going to start doing with my kids. I want to get the Little Pim Discovery Set with my daughter and keep forgetting to get it! ahhh

  4. I try to write at least one thing that I am thankful for in my journal each day.......I will say that a lot of days I don't succeed but I just saw a quote about joy this morning and I want to cultivate gratitude in myself and in my home. Thanks for reminding me to be more thankful!!

  5. I've been writing down something I'm happy about at the end of every day. Some days are harder than others, but it's making a difference in how I view my days now :)
