Lillie Baby Cardigan {Yarn Along}

Another project finished from my 2014 knitting goals!!! One of my friends is due late March/early April, and she's having a girl. Last May, I cast on the Lillie Baby Cardigan for a LuvInTheMommyhood KAL, but I did not come close to finishing it. I messed up on a section and needed to frog part of it; instead of frogging, I let it sit and sit and sit, until picking it up again a few weeks ago.

I bought the buttons for the cardigan at JoAnn Fabric. When I went to purchase them, I found everything else in my cart, except the buttons. I dumped out my purse, checked my pockets, etc., but still could not find them. I assumed Charis had dropped them, so I asked the clerk if I could go grab another set. She said I could. I left the store and forgot about the missing buttons. Two days later, I was washing clothes, as I emptied the washing machine, I found the three buttons, but the cardboard it was attached to could not be found. I called Drew in a panic and felt like crying. The next day, we took the buttons back with a receipt and paid for them. I was so frustrated with myself, but was happy we corrected it. Just in case, I looked up shoplifting laws in MD and found that because we went back and paid for them, we cannot be prosecuted. I have NO clue where they were. I'm not sure if my daughter put them in a pocket or if I somehow overlooked them, but now I have the cute buttons for another cardigan.

  1. That is absolutely adorable!! I'm much stronger at crochet than knitting but I would love to attempt this.

  4. Omgosh so stinking cute! I wish I had the patience to knit things. I have tried for 5 years to make longies for the little ones and hmm yeah by the rate I knit and get it right, they'd be having their own children before I finish theirs.

  5. I knit a similar pattern for my granddaughter...adorable! Funny story about the buttons. I'd have done the same thing. :) Funny how people react to honesty, or perhaps I should say "sad" -- our culture isn't used to it, I guess. Glad you found the buttons and it all worked out!
