Baby Vertebrae {Yarn Along}

August 2013, I started knitting a baby vertebrae for my sister's unborn baby, but did not finish it in time for my niece to wear. It sat, collecting dust for 6+ months, until I finally decided to complete it for my unborn son. I did not finish it before his birth, but was able to cast off about 1 1/2 weeks after he was born.  He has work it several times: at church, at his baptism, around the house, shopping, to visit the doctor. Sadly, it no longer fits him. I'm hoping to knit him another vertebrae for winter.

Thinking about
Our housing situation. As I have written in the past, we live in a one bedroom apartment. On Friday, our landlord called Drew to let him know he's planning on raising the rent. For the first year we had a yearlong lease, but now we're month to month. I have many hesitations with paying him more money every month-the chief is, he does not get back with us in a timely manner. It literally takes weeks for him to call Drew back; then he constantly makes excuses as to why he didn't call back. Sigh...

We went to look at a two bedroom apartment and overall liked it. A few drawbacks: the kitchen is tiny and storage space is almost non existent, the laundry area is shared, and there's no dishwasher. I have been looking at kitchen hutches just in case we do move there. There would be room for our small freezer and a kitchen hutch. Pros: it has two bedrooms, the laundry is not coin operated, and there's some yard space. I think the apartment is probably about the same size as our current place, just arranged differently. I'm thankful that the decision does not need to be made now. One neutral: it's in the basement. We were checking it out around 5:30 PM, and it seemed to let in lots of natural light. Have you lived in a basement apartment?

Thinking about projects I want to sew and knit for my daughter's 4th birthday which is less than one month away!! Is she really going to be 4??? Will I actually be able to do the 3-4 projects I have planned? We'll see. It depends on a number of things. Will we find a place to move into? How will Lil' J be acting? How much sleep am I willing to sacrifice?

Lalabu {Review}

This is a sponsored post.

In 2006, I went to Uganda for 6 weeks on a mission trip. While there, I saw a lot of women wearing their babies, but at the time thought it was a weird idea and thought, "I'd never babywear." Fast forward to 2010, I was expecting my first baby and read that parents who wore their children had happier babies. I put a baby wrap on my registry and received that wrap as a gift. But when I actually tried using it, I realized there was a high learning curve, and being the sleep deprived, emotional mom I was, ended up not using it like I thought I would, especially during the first few months.  I knew with my next baby, I wanted something different during the first few weeks-months.

Marathon Compression Socks {Review and Giveaway} #keepittight

Lil' J is now 8 weeks 1 day old! Time has flown by. At my 6 week check up, I was cleared to begin working out again. Though I tried to walk a mile about 3-5 times/week. I am now trying to get out and walk/run at least three times a week to the park and jump rope almost everyday. At the end of the day, one of my favorite things after taking a bath, is to put PRO compression socks on.

Jellystone Owl Pendant Teething Necklace {Giveaway}

My son has started to show some signs of teething-drooling and occasionally putting his whole hand in his mouth and chewing on it. Thankfully, he's a happy baby. Part of me thinks, "This is too soon. He can't be teething?" But the other part realizes, I want to be as prepared as possible for what will come sooner than I want.
