Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Barley Hat #YarnAlong

Barley Hat #YarnAlong

One of my childhood friends {E} married last August. His wife {L} is now expecting; she's due any day. I have always thought of E as an annoying younger brother. His dad is one of my dad's best friends, and his mother is one of my mum's best friends. We saw them every Sabbath at church and at our house 2-4 times/month. When I found out E and L were expecting, I thought, "I get to knit for another baby!!" My son was born and knitting went out the window. I was beginning to wonder, "Will I be able to knit something, anything for my friend's baby?"

Baby Gifts ready to be sent out.
Thankfully, I knit a barley hat for their baby. Since reading The Knitter's Life List, I have tried to "Knit something in bright red for every new baby on your {my} list." This is another knitting project that I have stash busted; I used this yarn, Lion Brand Cotton-Ease, for my son's Felipe vest.

Reading wise, I am listening to The Street Lawyer by John Grisham. I had not finished listening to A Tale of Two Cities, but it had to be "returned" to the library. I'll borrow it again from Overdrive. Most likely when I don't have as much going on.

What are your reading or knitting?

  4. It's that time of year again where I kick myself for not getting some knitting done! As soon as it turns cold, I have a list of things to knit.... and I never get them all done before we need them. Priority: neck warmer for the Cub!
