Surprise Ride #Review #Giveaway

Charis is at an age where she is very inquisitive, constantly asking questions, and wanting to create things. Unless things change, our plan is to home school our daughter next year. I have been doing informal educational activities with Charis.  When I saw an opportunity to review a Surprise Ride educational subscription box, I jumped at the chance.
Surprise Ride a monthly subscription service. Each month an education box is sent to your child. Boxes are geared towards children 6-11. Boxes have a surprise theme ranging from art and science to food and geography.

We received a spaceship and stars themed box. In our box the essentials included:
  • Design and build a clock. Wood clock panel, clock movement, clock hands, hardware kit, battery, paint, paintbrush, carpenter pencil, disposable apron, and water cup.
  • We spy telescope game. Telescope, Metallic Paper, and Cosmic stickers.
The Extras:
  • Star Finder pocket compass. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Keep this handy compass in your pocket to find stars like the sun!
  • "Cosmo"-The flying alien. Insert your index finger between the arms, pull the feet back with your other hand, and shoot Cosmo through outer space. Try again and see if you can make Cosmo fly further!
  • Funny space fill-in activity book. Fill in the blanks and create unique wacky space stories!
  • Astronaut freeze-dried pineapple. Enjoy a snack just like the ones real astronauts eat in space! Gluten, dairy, and nut free.
My thoughts: We loved it. We first designed a telescope, since one of my daughter's favorite things are stickers. The space fill-in activity book will be saved for future use-probably long car rides at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have not made the clock yet, but I'm thankful a disposable apron was enclosed, since I lost my daughter's paint shirt. Overall, I have been pleased with this box, but it is not something I would get every month. I would just get it a few times/year; since I prefer coming up with activities myself and like having more of a plan.

Great news. You can enter to win a Surprise Ride box for your son or daughter! This flash giveaway ends October 19, 2014. Enter US Only.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com
Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
