Now that summer is here, my husband's work hours usually pick up!! (Woohoo!!) The downside is since Drew is still revising his dissertation, he is up until all hours of the night, sleeps as late as he can in the morning, gets up, and quickly gets ready for work. I often have to thrust breakfast (a NoGii protein bar) in Drew's hand as he walks out the door.

NoGii products were created as a gluten-free product to provide protein to those with active lifestyles. Even though we do not have to eat gluten-free foods, my whole family has been enjoying NoGii products.

So how do they taste? Here are a few favorites.

My favorite bars are the paleo bars, which come in three varieties: 1)Nuts about berries, 2)Nuts about nuts, and 3)Nuts about tropical fruit. The paleo bars contain tree nuts, dates, honey, and fruit.

My favorite paleo bar was Nuts about Berries; it had the perfect combination of sweetness and tartness mixed together. 

Nuts about nuts was good, but I did not gravitate towards the taste as much. The ingredients: Almonds, Dates, Cashews, Honey, Sunflower Seeds, Pistachios, Safflower Oil. Under most circumstances, I would have rather had a handful of almonds with an apple instead of the bar. 

I was pleasantly surprised with Nuts about Tropical Fruit. I did not expect to like it. I thought the combination of the ingredients would not be please, but boy was I wrong. It was a bit sweeter than I would have liked, but overall enjoyable, especially when eaten with a cup of coffee.

The high protein bars are also delicious and packed with 17+ grams of protein. If you like thin mint cookies, you will love eating the chocolate mint protein bars. Chocolate coconut tastes like chocolate and coconut mixed together; the only thing that would have made this bar taste better was if coconut flakes were added to it.

I would often let my daughter have a chocolate caramel bliss when going to the pool, since it was individually wrapped in a smaller size.

I used the Whey & Quinoa protein to make smoothies. I loved this Vanilla Strawberry Blueberry Protein Shake that I made. 
1 scoop NoGii Whey & Quinoa protein powder
1 cup Almond milk
1/4 cup blueberries
1/4 cup sliced strawberries

1. Place protein powder, almond milk, blueberries, and strawberries in blender.
2. Blend until smooth.
