Strawberry Kisses Cardigan

One of my daughter's best friends had a birthday in February, but her party (which we did not attend) was not until April. After browsing Ravelry day after day, I finally decided to knit the strawberry kisses cardigan. I finished knitting it a week ago.

I finished listening to The Secret Garden. Now I'm listening to A Little Princess, by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This book was another favorite book from my childhood.

Drinking water. I recently realized that I drink way too much coffee (as in 4 cups/day) and not enough water. Instead of drinking coffee first thing in the morning, I plan on drinking at least 8 oz. of water first.

Cleaning the stove. I cleaned some of our pantry shelves. Doing so, helped me see I have a lot of beans that need to be thrown in the menu plan over the next few months.

Two Completed Knits

Lately, I have been in a knitting slump. I start a project and take forever completing it. Of course the trip to PA did not help. Instead of knitting, I walked almost everyday since the snow had melted visit and finally go on walks since the snow had melted. Knitting took a backburner.

Thankfully, knitting has picked up. I completed three projects this past week (all of which were stash busts!!!). I only have pictures of two of the projects.

I knit the Mustard Scarf for Very Shannon's Gilmore Girls KAL. The mustard scarf has been in my Ravelry queue for awhile. I knit it with Lion Brand Homespun yarn (not my favorite), but: 1)It was in my stash, 2)It is easy to wash and care for, and 3)It gets softer after washing.

The second knit complete was the Garter ear flap hat. I knit it with Cestari traditional 2 ply wool, which I bought two years ago at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. Despite the slightly coarse feel of this yarn, I enjoyed it (the feel is similar to Peace Fleece, but not as "scratchy"). After washing it with Euculan and a tiny drop of conditioner, it is MUCH softer. I plan on giving it to one of the babies (from church) born in March.

I'm listening to The Secret Garden. This is one of my favorite books. It brings back memories from the summer of 1991 when I was in Northern Ireland with my mum; we were visiting my grandparents. My mum read this book to me that summer. I love the themes about family, compassion, and love.

4 Simple Steps to Stress-Free Homemaking

I love being a mother, but being a housekeeper can be very daunting. There are often times when the: laundry is overflowing, dishes are left in the sink overnight leading to chaos the next day, and dinner time is a mad dash before my children have to go to bed.

If you are you a stressed-out homemaker (like me)? Don’t stay overwhelmed! Check out this FREE eCourse: 4 Simple Steps to Stress-Free Homemaking!

Sipping Donwell Abbey tea, with a spot of milk. Good tea drinkers put milk in the cup first, then add the tea.

Cleaning the bathroom! Okay, not really, but I NEED to. It has been over a month since I have cleaned it, though last week, I threw bleach in the toilet and scrubbed it. It's amazing how just cleaning the toilet improves the overall look/feel.

Grilled Cheese Pizza Sandwich #Recipe #Giveaway

This is a sponsored post.

It is grilled cheese month! When my family went out to eat, as a young girl, I would always order grilled cheese and french fries off the children's menu. Now, I shudder to think about the ingredients in processed cheese products that most grilled cheese sandwiches contain. When feeding my family grilled cheese sandwiches I usually use provolone or mozzarella because these cheeses melt easily. With the most recent grilled cheese sandwiches I made, I decided to try out Rumiano Cheese and loved how the sandwiches turned.

Rumiano Cheese Company

Rumiano cheese company is the oldest family-owned cheese company in California dating back four generations. They are committed to the organic, grass-fed and Non-GMO movement and continuing to produce the highest quality cheese inspired by their founding fathers' recipes and cheese making techniques. In 2011, Rumiano launched their Rumiano Family Organic line, which is the first cheese in the US market to receive Non-GMO Project Verification

My son is teething-A LOT. We recently got back from Pennsylvania, and the first week in PA, he woke up at least 3 times every night, in tears, drooling, gnawing on his fist. Unfortunately, breastfeeding did not help. Justin would nurse for 5-10 seconds and then push back of my breast.

From Good to Grace #Book #Review #Giveaway

This post is sponsored by Family Christian.

I was born in a home where both parents are Christians. I do not remember a time when I was not a Christian. Growing up, I believed (and still believe) that Jesus was a real and perfect person, that He died for my sins, rose from the dead, and is now in heaven.

As my faith matured, I trusted that I was saved by faith and not by my works, but in reality, my thoughts still believed that I had to do something myself. I would beat myself up if I skipped reading my Bible, and even think, "I'm not a Christian. I don't read my Bible like I should. I did not spend my 30 minutes in God's word three times this week." Looking back, I viewed God more of a taskmaster than a loving Father sent His son to earth, to live a perfect life, to take my sins (my wickedness) on Him, and die for them. Because of Christ, I am now righteous in God's eyes.
