Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Family Christian Review #Giveaway

Family Christian Review #Giveaway

Family Christian is a Christian retailer, operating in 250 stores across the country. Right now Family Christian is having a Buy 1 Get 50% off sale ALL Books, Movies and Music for the whole family! Shoppers can mix and match products to get the deal, which means they don’t need to shop within the same department. The sale goes through August 25, so head over to a Family Christian store now.

I was sent a Family Christian appreciation certificate to write about my experiences with shopping there. Usually, I have had an easier time shopping at an actual store. I believe there online purchasing needs to have room for improvement.

Cons:

"Available in-store only." There were at least 5-10 items I was interested in, but they were available in-store only. When I typed in my zip code, it said, "Out of stock." (In all three locations that are near me.)

"Coupons may not apply." When I finally decided to purchase a certain book, I was told (on the phone) that the appreciation certificate I had could not be used to purchase that item.

There are times it seems like the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I placed a phone order last Friday, August 12, 2016. After giving the appreciation certificate number, along with my address, I was told that I would receive an email with the order confirmation number. After not receiving an email for 3+ hours, I decided to email Family Christian stores. On Monday, this is the response I received, "When did you place this order? I checked our system, and I don’t see this item purchased from you. I just found 3 different people which don’t match your first or last name." I replied to the sender about when I purchased the item with the appreciation certificate. I received an email, on Tuesday, with my order details and received the item I purchased later that day. It would have been nice to receive a confirmation email immediately, instead of having to go search for the email.

Pros:

When I spoke and emailed with people at Family Christian, they were kind and courteous. They responded to my emails quickly (within 24 business hours).

The different in-store experiences I have had have been better than my online experiences (which have been hit and miss). I am one who prefers to go to a store, instead of shopping online. (I like to be able to look at what I'm interested in purchasing.)

One item, I would LOVE to get my hands on is, especially since Chariots of Fire is one of my favorite movies. Plus, Eric Liddell as from Scotland; you can't go wrong there.

Book: For the Glory by Duncan HamiltonDescription: Eric Liddell, hero of Chariots of Fire, ran and lived for the glory of God. This compelling narrative is his untold and inspiring story of athletic heroism and faith in the darkest circumstances—from his Olympic medal to his missionary work in China to his last, brave years in a Japanese work camp during World War II.

Family Christian is offering my readers a $25 appreciation certificate of their own! Enter via Rafflecopter below. What item would you like to purchase with the certificate? Where's the nearest store to you?

  1. I would purchase stamping supplies for our church card ministry. I have two stores about 15 minutes away from me.

  2. I am glad to have a Lifeway Christian store nearby, but these days I prefer online shopping from other, more user-friendly and affordable online retailers.

  4. Thank you for the giveaway. I don't have a Family Christian store near me, so I usually shop there online. I would love to get the VeggieTales: Veggie Friends Hand Puppets.
