Wife, Mummy, Nurse: Halloween 2016 #NaBloPoMo

Halloween 2016 #NaBloPoMo

I have many happy memories of Halloween growing up. My mum would usually sew our costumes. One year, I was a ballerina. Another year, a doctor; that year, my family's doctor let me borrow an old stethoscope, reflex hammer, and a pen light of his. The last Halloween that we lived in Iowa, my mum stayed up late making a hula skirt for me; yes, that year, I loved reading Meet Molly.

Yesterday was our first time trick or treating in our new neighborhood. Leading up to Halloween, Charis wanted to be a hula dancer, then an airplane pilot, then something else. Eventually, she settled on being a fairy princess. At that point, I said, "That's good. You can wear your pink dress and butterfly wings." Justin was just in it for the candy. I put an old TMNT shirt that has a detachable shell on him, with green and white leg warmers on his arms, and green pants.

Did your children go trick or treating last night?
What did they dress up as?
